NYSC Coordinator Charges Corps Members on Discipline, Unity

The Lagos State Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Mrs. Christiana Salmwang, has charged Prospective Corps Members of the 2026 Batch A Stream I Orientation Course to uphold discipline, unity and responsible conduct throughout the three-week orientation exercise.
Mrs. Salmwang gave the charge while addressing the corps members during her briefing at the Iyana Ipaja NYSC Orientation Camp, Lagos.
She stressed that adherence to the rules and guidelines of the camp would guarantee a smooth, safe and successful orientation programme.
The State Coordinator outlined key regulations governing the orientation course, urging corps members to promptly report any health challenges to camp officials, remain vigilant over their personal belongings and conduct themselves responsibly at all times.
She reiterated the Scheme’s zero tolerance for cultism, drug abuse and theft, warning that any corps member found engaging in such activities would face appropriate sanctions in line with NYSC regulations.
Mrs. Salmwang also cautioned the corps members on the use of social media, noting that digital actions leave permanent footprints. She encouraged them to use online platforms responsibly and to promote positive, value-driven content that reflects the ideals and image of the NYSC.
The Coordinator further appealed for the cooperation, support and understanding of the prospective corps members, noting that compliance with camp officials would contribute significantly to the overall success of the orientation exercise.
She urged them to participate actively in all camp activities, adding that the orientation programme had been carefully designed to be engaging, informative and enriching, while fostering national unity and responsible citizenship among Nigerian youths.
