Nwifuru Hails Critic Chika Nwoba, Sparks Political Confusion in Ebonyi

Ebonyi State Governor, Francis Nwifuru, has praised outspoken critic and political commentator, Nwoba Chika Nwoba, describing him as a valuable voice who provides critical insights into his administration.
Speaking during a service at the Government House Chapel in Abakaliki, Governor Nwifuru revealed that he regularly reads Nwoba’s Facebook posts and often uses the information shared to assess the performance of his appointees. “Chika gives me information about my government… He points out where we’re not getting it right,” the governor said.
He criticized appointees who attack Nwoba, calling them “lazy” and stating that only idle officials have time to pursue critics. “Political enemies can be a mirror through which a government’s performance is assessed,” Nwifuru added.
In a swift reaction, Nwoba thanked the governor for the recognition but maintained a guarded stance, alleging continued harassment from within the government. He accused the governor’s wife and some commissioners of plotting against him. “You supported your delinquent commissioner… Your wife was desperate about killing me,” he claimed.
Nwoba emphasized he has no political ambitions or desire for appointments. “I’m not your political enemy… I mustn’t be in government to offer ideas that help our people,” he wrote, adding that his criticisms are meant to drive accountability, not personal gain.
