In addition, the Council approved the reactivation of the Nkaliki Hatchery. There are plans to raise 15,000 chickens for table egg production.
They also aim to raise 20,400 broilers from day-old chicks. This initiative aims to revitalize the poultry industry and maximize the state’s investment in the hatchery.
The Council also approved the engagement of a consultant to collect Telecom Tax in the State. The consultant will work with a commission rate of 5% of the revenue generated. This move is aimed at broadening the revenue base of the state.
Furthermore, the Council approved the hosting of a Half International Marathon, a 21.9 kilometers competition, scheduled for September 14, 2024. The event is expected to promote sports, health, and economic benefits for the state.
In the area of empowerment, the Council approved the sum of N285 million for the provision of Starter Packs. These were given to 95 graduate-trainees of the Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru Empowerment Programme.
