NNPCL Boss Bayo Ojulari Allegedly Forced to Resign Under Pressure

The Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), Bayo Ojulari, has reportedly been forced into signing a resignation letter.
According to a Peoples Gazette report published Saturday, Ojulari was allegedly confronted on Friday by the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ola Olukoyede, and the Director-General of the State Security Service (SSS), Adeola Ajayi.
Sources familiar with the situation claimed Ojulari was questioned repeatedly about his connections to Olatimbo Ayinde, a British-Nigerian oil entrepreneur who has recently gained significant influence within President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
“He told us he didn’t know Olatimbo Ayinde,” a source who spoke anonymously told the publication.
As of Saturday afternoon, neither EFCC spokesperson Dele Oyewale nor Ojulari had responded to multiple requests for comment.
The development comes amid growing concerns within the NNPCL about alleged attempts to destabilise the leadership of the state-owned oil company.
Ojulari was appointed as GCEO of NNPCL by President Tinubu in April 2025.
