Nkechi Blessing Reveals Why She Took a Break from Nollywood

Nollywood actress Nkechi Blessing Sunday has opened up about stepping away from the movie industry, citing financial stability provided by an anonymous benefactor.
Speaking during an interview on Curiosity Made Me Ask with Bae U Barbie, Nkechi revealed that someone had secretly placed her on a ₦1 million weekly allowance. According to her, the generous gesture gave her the freedom to turn down poorly paid movie roles and take a break from acting altogether.
“Someone anonymously put me on a ₦1 million weekly salary because I wasn’t getting paid enough for movie roles — that’s why I took a break from acting. I can’t shoot a movie and I might not even make up to ₦1 million profit from it,” she explained.
She added that the uncertainty and low earnings in Nollywood were key reasons behind her decision to pause her career.
When asked whether the mystery sponsor still supports her, Nkechi cheekily replied, “It’s not your business.”
