Nigerian musician 2Face publicly apologises over controversial comment

Legendary Nigerian singer 2Face has issued a public apology following widespread backlash over a controversial statement about men and sexual fidelity.
According to ASIWAJU MEDIA, the Afrobeats star had claimed during an interview with Nedu Wazobia that men are not naturally designed to remain sexually committed to a single woman. His remark quickly provoked outrage across social media, with many users condemning it as insensitive and irresponsible.
In response to the criticism, the 49-year-old musician shared a video on his Instagram page on Wednesday morning, expressing regret over his choice of words.
“I know I have messed up with what I said. I really, really messed up the way I said it. I’m going to pay a heavy price. I’ll face the consequences,” he admitted.
“I said it because I wanted people to understand me, but maybe I didn’t express it appropriately. I own up to my mistake. But one thing I know for sure is I’m sorry to my wife, Natasha. Calling me a legend is an honour, but this comment of mine is very un-legend-like.”
2Face added that the overwhelming reactions had made him realise how much love and respect people have for him, and he regretted jeopardising that with “stupid statements.”
“I’m sorry,” he concluded.
