Nigerian Man Escapes Kidnapping Only To Die In Motorcycle Crash Hours Later

The Ogwashi-Uku community in Delta State has been thrown into mourning following the tragic death of a man popularly known as Ability, who died in a motorcycle accident just a day after narrowly escaping a kidnapping attempt.
According to rights activist Harrison Gwamnishu, the incident began on Monday, July 28, when armed kidnappers stormed Ability’s residence. A video shared by Gwamnishu showed the victim’s gateman bravely locking the gate as the assailants fired shots in an attempt to gain entry.
“Mr Ability that escaped kidnapping yesterday died this evening by motorcycle accident,” Gwamnishu wrote in a heartbreaking Instagram post on Tuesday night.
He revealed that earlier that day, Ability had hosted him at his home and even offered a drink in appreciation of his work. Tragically, while attempting to visit his wife later in the evening, Ability was involved in a fatal accident at Issele-Uku, on the way to his hometown, Obomkpa.
“Which kind life be this? See strong Ability for inside casket,” Gwamnishu lamented. “He survived more than 17 bullets yesterday, slept, woke up, and this evening he’s been lowered.”
The devastating news has sparked widespread grief, especially after footage of the foiled kidnapping and a video of Ability lying lifeless in a casket surfaced online.
