Nigerian Lady Apologizes to Skit Maker Nkubi Over Offensive Remark About His Daughter

A Nigerian woman, Chinonye Favour, has publicly apologized to popular skit maker and actor Nkubi after making a controversial comment about his daughter.
The backlash began after Favour shared a photo of Nkubi’s daughter on social media with the caption “Main Labubu” — a reference many considered offensive and inappropriate.
In response to the growing outrage, Favour released a video apology, explaining that she had come across the image on another platform and was unaware of the identities of Nkubi and his daughter at the time.
“I made a post that went viral, and first things first, I want to sincerely apologize to Nkubi and his family,” she said. “I didn’t know the child was Nigerian.”
She also addressed claims that she had deactivated her Facebook account to avoid criticism, stating that her social media remains active and that Nkubi is welcome to contact her directly if he wishes to.
The apology comes as many Nigerians continue to call for more sensitivity and accountability in online commentary, especially when it involves children.
