Nigerian, Joshua Olusanya Sets Guinness World Record for Longest Trumpet Marathon

Nigerian trumpeter Joshua Olusanya, popularly known as Trumpet Influencer, has officially entered the Guinness World Records for the Longest Marathon Playing the Trumpet — a triumphant achievement following a previously disqualified attempt in 2024.
Olusanya’s first effort in February 2024 was invalidated after he briefly paused to drink water, an act that violated Guinness World Records’ strict performance rules. Undeterred, he returned in May 2025 with renewed determination.
From May 9 to 10, at Terra Kulture in Victoria Island, Lagos, Olusanya performed non-stop for 25 hours, 30 minutes, and 36 seconds, earning him the official world title.
Sharing the good news on Instagram via his handle @officialbossboss, he posted the confirmation email from Guinness World Records, which read in part:
“Dear Joshua Olusanya, we are thrilled to inform you that your application for Longest Marathon Playing the Trumpet has been successful and you are now the Guinness World Records Title Holder! Congratulations, you are Officially Amazing!”
Overjoyed, Olusanya wrote:
“Official! I’m honoured to announce that I’ve set the first-ever Guinness World Record for the Longest Marathon Playing the Trumpet! A dream we collectively fought for. Thank you, Nigeria! We made history together.”
The achievement has been met with widespread praise, especially considering the resilience and dedication shown after his initial setback.
Olusanya now joins a growing list of Nigerians making global headlines through extraordinary feats — from skipping records to artistic accomplishments — continuing to prove that determination knows no limits.
