Nigeria Police Reopens Direct Entry Recruitment for Graduates After 12 Years

The Police Service Commission (PSC) has reinstated the Direct Entry Scheme for recruitment into the Nigeria Police Force, ending a 12-year hiatus. This move, under the leadership of DIG Hashimu Salihu Argungun (rtd), offers a fresh opportunity for degree holders and diploma holders to join the force.
The recruitment is open to the following categories:
Cadet ASP (Assistant Superintendent of Police): Degree holders (BSc, BA)
Cadet Inspectors: HND and ND holders
Successful candidates will undergo training at the Police Staff College in Jos, Plateau State, where they will be equipped with the necessary skills for service.
DIG Argungun emphasized that this recruitment process will be entirely transparent, just, and corruption-free. In a statement, he warned that any individual caught attempting to manipulate the process through bribery or other illicit means would face legal consequences. “This is a recruitment process that will uphold the values of merit, discipline, and justice. No favoritism will be tolerated,” he affirmed.
The reinstatement of the Direct Entry Scheme provides a significant opportunity for young Nigerians who aspire to serve their country through the police force. Argungun, known for his commitment to integrity and fairness, has reassured applicants that only merit will determine their eligibility.
