Niger Delta youth leaders on Wednesday stormed the headquarters of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) in Abuja, staging a protest that disrupted activities around the towers.

The demonstrators, who reportedly arrived as early as 6 a.m., blocked both entry and exit points of the building, leaving workers stranded and forcing many to park their cars several meters away.

Carrying banners and chanting slogans, the protesters also marched through Herbert Macaulay Way in the Central Business District, causing traffic diversion and gridlock.

On one of the banners, they demanded the resignation of the Group Chief Executive Officer of the NNPCL, Engr. Bashir Ojulari, accusing him of corruption and mismanagement. They further insisted that the leadership of the company be handed to a Niger Delta indigene.
