NFF Clarifies Support For Families Of Christian Chukwu And Peter Rufai Amid Taribo West’s Criticism

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has clarified its support for the families of late football legends Christian Chukwu and Peter Rufai, following criticism from former Super Eagles defender Taribo West.

In an official statement, the NFF said it stood in solidarity with both icons during their funerals and provided financial assistance to their families to help facilitate the burial arrangements.

For Christian Chukwu’s funeral, the federation was represented by Executive Committee members Chief George Aluo, Barr. Okey Obi, and Mr. Chikelue Iloenyosi. At Peter Rufai’s Lagos funeral mass, the NFF delegation included Executive Committee members Alhaji Ganiyu Majekodunmi and Dr. Ademola Olajire.

The NFF emphasized its commitment to honoring the contributions of these football legends, celebrating their legacies, and providing ongoing support to their families.

The clarification comes amid ongoing discussions on the need to properly recognize and support former footballers in Nigeria.
