The Nenadi Usman-led faction of the Labour Party has reminded the party’s 2023 Vice Presidential candidate, Dr. Datti Baba-Ahmed, that the party’s leadership crisis has been conclusively resolved by the Supreme Court.

In a statement issued in Abuja on Wednesday, Ken Asogwa, Senior Special Adviser (Media) to the party’s Interim National Chairman, Senator Nenadi Usman, responded to Baba-Ahmed’s recent recognition of Julius Abure as National Chairman during a public event.

“It is imperative to state that the leadership question within the Labour Party has been conclusively settled by the Supreme Court of Nigeria,” Asogwa said.

He pointed out that the party took note of Baba-Ahmed’s participation in a meeting organized by the Abure-led faction, describing such actions as inconsistent with the court’s clear ruling.

According to Asogwa, the apex court’s judgment explicitly nullified Julius Abure’s claim to the chairmanship and affirmed Senator Usman’s leadership, granting her all the reliefs sought in the appeal.

He called on members of the party to remain calm, focused, and united as efforts continue to reconcile aggrieved members and strengthen the party’s internal cohesion.
