NELFUND Disburses ₦79.557M in Student Loans to LASUSTECH, Lamido University, and Others

The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has disbursed a total of ₦79.557 million in student loans to three universities, including Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH), Sule Lamido University (Lamido University), and University of Ilesa.
University of Ilesa Receives ₦49.992 Million
The University of Ilesa, Osun State, has received a significant financial boost of ₦49,992,000.00 from NELFUND.
This disbursement, which was received on February 11, 2025, will support 124 students of the university, enhancing their welfare and educational experience.

According to a statement from the university’s registrar, Funso Ojo, “This is to acknowledge the receipt of a sum of Forty-Nine Million, Nine Hundred and Ninety-Two Thousand Naira (₦49,992,000.00) only by University of Ilesa, Ilesa, Osun State, on 11th February, 2025, being disbursement of students’ educational loan to 124 students of the University.”
The University Management has expressed its sincere appreciation to NELFUND for this commendable initiative.
“The University Management wishes to express its sincere appreciation to NELFUND for the commendable initiative, which will, no doubt, significantly enhance the welfare of the students,” the statement read.
This is not the first time the university has benefited from NELFUND, as it had earlier received ₦98.87 million to support 247 students.
Lagos State University of Science and Technology Receives ₦13.979 Million
Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH) has acknowledged the receipt of ₦13,979,000.00 from NELFUND. This disbursement will support 151 students of the university, enhancing their educational experience.
According to a statement from the university’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olumuyiwa Omotola Odusanya,
“I bring you warm greetings from Lagos State University of Science and Technology, the University of Excellence. I write to acknowledge the receipt of the payment of the sum of thirteen million, nine hundred and seventy-nine thousand Naira (₦13,979,000.00) only, from NELFUND as loan for 151 students from our university.”

The university’s management expressed gratitude to NELFUND for the loan payment, which will be disbursed to the beneficiaries.
This is not the first time LASUSTECH has benefited from NELFUND, having previously received ₦112,057,000.00, which was allocated to 1,233 students under the NELFUND student loan program.
Sule Lamido University Kafin Hausa Receives ₦15.586 Million
Sule Lamido University Kafin Hausa, Jigawa State has acknowledged the receipt of ₦15,586,750.00.
This disbursement, which is the third from NELFUND, will support 610 students of the university under the Students Loan Programme for the 2023/2024 academic session.
According to a statement from the university, “I am directed to write and acknowledge the receipt of the sum of Fifteen Million, Five Hundred and Eighty-Six Thousand, Seven Hundred and Fifty Naira (₦15,586,750.00) only by Sule Lamido University Kafin Hausa, being the 3rd disbursement by Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) under the Students Loan Programme, in respect of six hundred and ten (610) students of the University for the 2023/2024 Academic Session.”

The university’s management expressed their deepest gratitude to NELFUND, looking forward to continuous support for their students.
“While we look forward to continuous support of our students through NELFUND, please accept the deepest gratitude and esteem regards of the Vice-Chancellor,” the statement read.
