NCAA Seeks Prosecution Of K1 De Ultimate Over In-Flight Incident

The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has petitioned the Attorney-General of the Federation and the Inspector-General of Police, seeking a full investigation and possible prosecution of veteran Fuji musician, King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as K1 De Ultimate, over an incident aboard a domestic ValueJet flight.
The incident, which occurred on Tuesday during ValueJet flight VK201, allegedly disrupted standard operational procedures and breached aviation safety protocols. Preliminary findings suggest that K1 De Ultimate’s actions may have violated the Nigerian Civil Aviation Regulations.
In a statement on Thursday, the NCAA confirmed it had urged the AGF and IGP to “launch a thorough investigation into the incident” and begin “appropriate prosecution in accordance with the Nigeria Civil Aviation Regulations 2023 and all other applicable laws.”
Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has also directed the placement of K1 De Ultimate on a No-Fly List for all commercial flights pending the outcome of the investigation. The advisory, issued by the Director General of Civil Aviation, Capt. Chris Najomo, to the Airline Operators of Nigeria, is in line with international best practices for maintaining aviation safety.
“The NCAA reiterates that no individual, regardless of their public status, will be allowed to undermine the integrity of the aviation industry. Aviation safety and discipline are non-negotiable, and acts capable of endangering lives or compromising flight operations will not be tolerated,” the statement read.
