NANS JCC Ondo Disowns G4’s Claims of SUG Presidents’ Summit

The leadership of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Joint Campus Council (JCC), Ondo State Axis, has distanced itself from recent claims made by a group known as NANS G4 regarding a supposed engagement with all Students’ Union Government (SUG) Presidents in the state.
In a press statement signed by the Chairman of NANS JCC Ondo, Comrade Adekanye Mayomi Adeboye, popularly known as INEC, the association described the claims as false, misleading, and politically motivated.
The statement, issued from the office of the JCC Chairman, made it clear that no official summit or workshop involving all SUG Presidents in Ondo State was convened or authorized by the NANS JCC, and that G4, a self-styled political caucus, has no constitutional backing to speak or act on behalf of the broader student community.
“We categorically and officially disassociate the JCC Ondo Axis from this false narrative and issue this stern response in the interest of clarity, truth, and the integrity of NANS in Ondo State,” Comr. INEC stated.
While acknowledging the right of political and ideological groups to operate within the student movement, the JCC Chairman warned against deliberate misinformation, describing it as harmful to the foundation of student unionism. He emphasized that any further misrepresentation of facts by the G4 group or similar actors will attract disciplinary measures within the NANS framework.
He added that the NANS JCC remains committed to its “Unified and Redefined Era” as encapsulated in its 5-Mission Agenda focused on inclusiveness, unity, campus security, student welfare, and real empowerment.
The statement concluded by urging students across the state to disregard the false claims and remain united in pursuit of a common goal, thanking all SUG Presidents and stakeholders for their continued loyalty and support.
“Let us focus on building, not dividing. The road ahead is long and we must walk it in truth and unity,” the chairman said.
