Mourinho blasts Galatasaray after goalkeeper’s penalty in final league game

Fenerbahce manager José Mourinho has criticised Galatasaray’s conduct during their final Super Lig match, calling their decision to allow goalkeeper Fernando Muslera take a late penalty a reflection of their “lack of human condition.”
Galatasaray, already on the verge of clinching the 2024/25 Super Lig title, were leading 2-0 in the closing minutes when they were awarded a penalty in the 89th minute.
In a symbolic gesture, long-serving Uruguayan goalkeeper Muslera, who has been with the club for 12 years, stepped up to convert the spot-kick, his second career goal, triggering jubilant celebrations among teammates and fans.
However, Mourinho viewed the move as distasteful.
“The way you celebrate championships shows your human condition,” the Portuguese tactician said post-match.
“Today’s championship celebrations were like a summary of the stories during the season.
“When it was 2-0, they made the goalkeeper kick a penalty, which was a great image to show how humane they are.”
