Mohbad’s Father Recounts Suspicious Events Surrounding Son’s Final Moments

Mr. Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, father of the late singer Mohbad, has shared troubling details about the hours leading up to his son’s death, raising fresh concerns about what really happened that day.
Speaking in an interview with activist Vincent Otse Martins, also known as VeryDarkMan, Mr. Aloba recalled receiving a call around 4:30 p.m. on September 12 from Mohbad’s mother, informing him that their son was seriously ill and had been hospitalized.
He said he quickly arranged to meet her so they could go to the hospital together. However, upon arrival at the location in Osapa London, he was told by Mohbad’s uncle, Darosha, that the singer’s condition had improved and there was no need to worry. By 7:00 p.m., he was even advised to return home.
That sudden change in narrative didn’t sit right with him.
“I already suspected my son was gone,” Aloba said. “They first told me he wasn’t well, then suddenly he was okay? Something didn’t add up.”
Driven by instinct, he followed others to Mohbad’s residence, where he encountered a crowd and was initially blocked from entering.
“I kept introducing myself so I could get in,” he said. “Eventually, I went upstairs—where Mohbad and I usually met—and what I saw broke me. The duvet was soaked in blood.”
Mr. Aloba added that after giving his statement at the police station, he was denied access to the official report, allegedly because the death wasn’t reported immediately.
“We were at the police station, and as I was speaking, someone came out and said they shouldn’t give me the report because I didn’t come on time.”
He also claimed that Mohbad’s wife, Wunmi, had the doctor’s report but kept quiet about it. In a disturbing revelation, he alleged that Mohbad’s body was embalmed at home without his consent after the morgue refused to take it that night.
These revelations have added to ongoing public calls for a thorough and transparent investigation into the circumstances surrounding the 27-year-old artist’s death.
