Ministry Welcomes New NYSC Coordinator

The Lagos State Ministry of Youth and Social Development has received the newly appointed State Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Lagos State,Mrs Christiana Salmwang.
The outgoing State Coordinator, Mrs.
Yetunde Baderinwa led the team from NYSC Lagos to the ministry in Alausa,Ikeja.
While welcoming the team,the Director,General Services,Mr Ibukun Dosunmu expressed appreciation for the strong relationship and unwavering support the ministry has received from the NYSC Lagos State Secretariat.
He highlighted how the ministry, under Governor Babajide Sanwoolu’s leadership remains committed to youth development, including providing exceptional support to corps members. “The Governor is passionate about youth development, and this has been reflected in the backing we have consistently provided for the NYSC,” Dosunmu said.
In her farewell remark, Mrs.Baderinwa thanked the Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, Mr. Mobolaji Ogunlende, for fostering a robust partnership between the ministry and the NYSC during her tenure.
She introduced Mrs. Salmwang as an experienced administrator, known for her reliability and track record of success in the NYSC. Baderinwa also called for continued support from the ministry and state government.
In his response,the Honourable Commissioner, assured of the ministry’s support for Mrs. Salmwang and that the reshuffling of leadership within NYSC would not disrupt the long-standing partnership between the ministry and the Scheme.
He praised Mrs. Baderinwa for her leadership, which made Lagos a “home away from home” for corps members.
He also wished her well in her new role as Acting Director, General Services, NYSC Directorate Headquarters, acknowledging her monumental achievements and contributions to the growth of the Scheme in Lagos.
Mrs. Salmwang, in her response, expressed gratitude to the ministry and the outgoing Coordinator, Mrs. Baderinwa, for their goodwill. She commended Baderinwa’s remarkable achievements in Lagos and assured everyone that she would build upon her predecessor’s successes.
The In-coming State Coordinator promised to continue fostering the collaboration between NYSC and the ministry, assuring that corps members would continue to thrive in the “Centre of Excellence”.
