Microsoft Unveils $1m Initiative to Skill One Million Nigerians in Artificial Intelligence

Microsoft has launched a one million dollar initiative aimed at providing Artificial Intelligence (AI) skills to one million Nigerians over the next two years.
The announcement was made by Microsoft’s Country Manager for Nigeria and Ghana, Ola Williams, during the Microsoft AI tour in Lagos on Wednesday.
“I am thrilled to announce that Microsoft will be investing one million dollars over the next two years to empower one million Nigerians with AI tools,” Williams shared enthusiastically.
She emphasized that the initiative would not only enable Nigerian youths to secure sustainable livelihoods but also equip them to compete on the global stage.
“This is a major investment in our mission to ensure that everyone has access to the skills needed not only to use AI but also to build AI-driven solutions and businesses. This will provide Nigerian youths with opportunities to create sustainable livelihoods and compete globally,” Williams explained.
The Microsoft AI tour focuses on exploring AI’s future potential and its wide-ranging opportunities across various sectors.
