May Edochie’s Legal Team Withdraws from Divorce Case Over Hostile Environment

The DPA Family Law Clinic has formally withdrawn from representing May Edochie in her ongoing divorce battle with actor Yul Edochie, citing an increasingly hostile environment fueled by supporters from both camps.
In a statement, the firm revealed that harassment and toxic behavior from factions loyal to Yul and May—particularly some individuals within the “May Nation”—had made it impossible for their team to continue offering effective legal support.
“DPA’s services to Queen May have come to an end. The hostile environment fostered by certain individuals within the ‘May Nation’ group has made it untenable for us to continue effective representation.”
Despite reaffirming their belief that May is a victim of marital abuse and betrayal, the firm explained that their ethical duty to protect staff had to take precedence.
“Ethically, pursuing action against those who bullied Queen May becomes profoundly difficult when her own supporters exhibit comparable, if not greater, hostility,” the statement continued. “We cannot, in good conscience, continue to expose our staff to daily abuse from both Yul’s and May’s supporters. Queen May’s inability to influence her more toxic supporters makes it impossible for us to continue representing her.”
The DPA team also announced intentions to take legal action against an individual allegedly fueling the online harassment, while pledging to cooperate fully with May’s new legal representatives to ensure a smooth transition.
They concluded with words of support for May, emphasizing her need for justice and protection.
“We wish Queen May victory and acknowledge her strength as an individual. The chain of events leading to the conflict between Yul and Queen May rests squarely on Yul, significantly aided by Judy.”
