Alex Oguta, a social media influencer and Tech Guru from Ebonyi State, says he has purchased the Chuba Okadigbo International Airport and is donating it to Comfort Emmanson, the woman recently involved in an altercation aboard an Ibom Air flight.

In a viral social media post on Thursday, Mr Oguta claimed he had concluded discussions with the Ebonyi State Government and finalized payment for the airport. He stated that the facility, located in Onueke, Ebonyi State, would be handed over to Ms Emmanson “as a gift.”

“I want to donate the airport as a gift to Comfort Emmanuel . She can use it the way she wants. I will equally add two private jets for her so that no one can ever molest her because of ordinary airplane again,” he wrote.

Mr Oguta did not provide details of the transaction with the state government, and NAIJA NEWS TODAY could not independently verify the claim as of the time of filing this report. Efforts to reach officials in the Ebonyi State Government for confirmation were unsuccessful.

Ms Emmanson was at the centre of a viral incident on 10 August involving Ibom Air. She was forcibly removed from a Lagos-bound flight after allegedly refusing to turn off her phone and engaging in a physical altercation with a cabin crew member.

The incident drew wide public attention and condemnation. Following her arrest, the Federal Government intervened, and the airline later withdrew its complaint. A magistrate court in Lagos subsequently struck out the case.

The Airline Operators of Nigeria (AON) also announced the lifting of a lifetime ban placed on Ms Emmanson and is reportedly considering appointing her as an ambassador for proper passenger conduct.

Mr Oguta’s announcement has drawn mixed reactions online, with many questioning both the scale and intent of the gesture. He ended his statement with the words: “World of inordinate reward system. I left.”
