Lion kills 14years old girl in Kenya

A 14-year-old girl has been killed by a lion on the outskirts of Nairobi, according to the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS).
According to the conservation agency, the child was abducted from a residential compound on a ranch adjacent to Nairobi National Park.
After another adolescent raised the alarm, KWS rangers followed the girl’s tracks to the nearby Mbagathi River, where they discovered the remains of the primary school girl.
The lion has not been located, but KWS stated that it had set a trap and sent search teams to find the animal.
The agency said that tight security measures had been taken to prevent any further attacks.
Nairobi National Park is home to animals such as lions, buffalos, giraffes, leopards and cheetahs, located 10km (six miles) from the city centre.
Paula Kahumbu, head of the WildlifeDirect conservation group, said the deaths were not isolated incidents and urged KWS to improve “risk assessments and ensure accurate, real-time communication of wildlife movement and behavior, especially in known high-risk areas such as Savannah Ranch where the 14-year-old was killed.
