LASIMRA Begins Enumeration of Telecom Masts in Lagos

The Lagos State Infrastructure Maintenance and Regulatory Agency (LASIMRA) has begun an enumeration exercise for telecom masts and towers across Lagos state.
The exercise, which began on February 1, 2025, will last three months or more.
This enumeration exercise is in partnership with the Association of Licensed Telecommunications Operators of Nigeria (ALTON). The exercise aims to create an updated database of all communication infrastructure in the state.
According to LASIMRA’s General Manager, Prince Oyekanmi Elegushi, the exercise will cover telecom, radio, television, and security infrastructure. The goal is to enhance regulatory oversight and public safety.
He noted that proper enumeration will help address structural and environmental risks associated with masts and towers. It will ensure a safer telecommunications environment for Lagos residents.
Stakeholders such as telecom operators, broadcasting companies, banks, and security firms are urged to cooperate fully. Property owners and the general public are also encouraged to support the program.
