Lamine Yamal Officially Inherits Barcelona’s Legendary No. 10 Jersey

Barcelona has officially handed the iconic No. 10 jersey to teenage sensation Lamine Yamal, placing him in the historic lineage of club legends like Lionel Messi, Ronaldinho, and Diego Maradona.
The 18-year-old forward received the prestigious shirt in a private ceremony at Spotify Camp Nou, where he was presented with the jersey by club president Joan Laporta. The gesture cements Yamal’s place as a key figure in Barcelona’s future.
“Messi paved the way; now I’ll make mine,” Yamal said. He added that he doesn’t feel pressure—only inspiration—as he focuses on building his own legacy.
Yamal previously wore numbers 41, 27, and most recently 19. The No. 10 became available following Ansu Fati’s loan move to AS Monaco. The club’s decision to give it to Yamal signals their full faith in his potential. The young star already boasts a treble with Barcelona and a UEFA Euro title with Spain.
With this bold move, Barça is making it clear: Lamine Yamal isn’t just another rising talent—he’s the future of the club.
