Lagos Govt seals hotels, churches, gas plant over noise pollution

The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency, LASEPA, has sealed off several facilities across Lagos Mainland over persistent noise pollution and other environmental violations.

The enforcement operation, which took place on Tuesday, was part of the agency’s ongoing efforts to uphold environmental standards and ensure public health and safety in residential and commercial areas.

According to the Lagos State Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, the operation was conducted by LASEPA’s enforcement team across various locations, including Aguda in Surulere, LASU-Iba Road, Ilogbo Road, Jakande, Ajangbadi, Ojo, Okokomaiko, and Agric Bus Stop.
Among the establishments affected were hospitality outlets, religious centres, and commercial businesses.

Facilities sealed during the operation include Admax Lounge, Casco Gas Plant, Food Affairs, Hotel De Bravo, JC Wellington Hotel & Suites, Niger Villa, Nayon Superstores, Another Level Hotel, The Levite Assembly, Lutana Lounge & Suites, and Kelwinson Hotel.
Wahab, through his official X handle, reiterated the government’s commitment to enforcing environmental laws to safeguard residents from the harmful effects of pollution.
