Lagos Environmental Taskforce Arrests 84 in Agege Clean-Up Operation

The Lagos State Environmental Taskforce has apprehended 84 individuals during a clean-up enforcement exercise conducted in the Agege area on Friday, June 20, 2025.
The operation targeted several identified hotspots, including the Railway corridor at Ojurin, Isale Oja, Oke Koto, and the AP axis, where officials encountered what they described as “undesirable elements.”
Confirming the development via his official X handle, the Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, reiterated the state government’s commitment to maintaining environmental order.
“The Lagos State Environmental Taskforce on Friday, 20th June, 2025, embarked on its ongoing clean-up enforcement operation in Agege. Areas covered included the Railway corridor (Ojurin), Isale Oja, Oke Koto, and AP, among others,” Wahab stated.
He emphasized the state’s zero-tolerance policy on environmental violations and assured that all suspects arrested during the operation would be prosecuted.
