Lagos Corps members urged to prioritize skill acquisition for self-reliance

The State Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, Lagos State, Mrs. Christiana Salmwang, has charged the 2025 Batch A Stream 1 corps members undergoing orientation at the NYSC Lagos camp to prioritize skill acquisition and entrepreneurship development for self-reliance.
Mrs. Salmwang stated this while addressing the corps members during a debriefing session at the NYSC camp in Iyana-Ipaja on Monday.
She emphasized the importance of leveraging the skills acquired during the orientation to become self-reliant and contribute meaningfully to nation-building.

The State Coordinator also urged the corps members to maintain discipline, uphold the NYSC’s image with pride and integrity, and avoid any form of misconduct.
Mrs. Salmwang reminded them to utilize their health insurance coverage and be cautious of their safety, avoiding unnecessary journeys without approval.

She advised the corps members to excel in their places of primary assignment, maintain proper dressing, and build good relationships with their supervisors, while encouraging them to use social media responsibly and avoid actions that could tarnish the image of the NYSC.
In a bid to foster a strong connection with the corps members, the State Coordinator provided her phone number, enabling them to reach out to her on matters requiring urgent attention.
