The academic community at Prince Abubakar Audu University (PAAU), formerly Kogi State University, Anyigba, has been plunged into mourning following the sudden death of a lecturer, Dr. Olabode Abimbola Ibikunle.
Reports indicate that Dr. Ibikunle allegedly died during a private encounter with a 200-level female student of the institution at a hotel in Anyigba. Sources claim the lecturer passed away in the course of what was described as an “active bedroom service” with the student.
While the exact departments of both the lecturer and the student have not been confirmed, images of Dr. Ibikunle have surfaced online, sparking widespread conversations among students and staff of the university.
The identity of the student remains undisclosed, but she has reportedly been taken into police custody as investigations continue into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
As of the time of this report, neither the university authorities nor the Kogi State Police Command has released an official statement.
