Kizz Daniel Reclaims Ownership Of New Era Album And Hit Singles From G-Worldwide

Afrobeats star Kizz Daniel has officially regained ownership of his debut album New Era and the hit singles “Yeba” and “Sofa” from his former record label, G-Worldwide.
The singer made the announcement on social media, expressing deep gratitude for the journey and the victory.
“From long nights in the studio to several mediations 👨🏿⚖️ FINALLY, I NOW OWN EVERY SONG ON THE New Era album (2016) + Yeba & Sofa (singles) —
I GOT MY MASTERS BACK 🙏🏾
This means more than words can explain. Thank you for riding with me,” he tweeted.
The news marks a major turning point in Kizz Daniel’s career. His debut album New Era, which featured hits like “Woju,” “Mama,” and “Laye,” played a pivotal role in establishing him as one of Nigeria’s leading music talents. However, a prolonged legal battle with G-Worldwide over contract restrictions and catalog ownership followed his exit from the label in 2017.

Reclaiming his masters means that Kizz Daniel now has full control over the commercial use, licensing, and revenue generated from those songs—an important move in an industry where many artists have struggled to gain ownership of their original work.
The achievement also highlights the growing awareness among Nigerian artists about the importance of intellectual property and catalog control. For Kizz Daniel, it’s not just a legal win, but a personal and professional triumph nearly a decade in the making.
With his catalog now under his full control, the singer continues to solidify his legacy—not just as a hitmaker, but as an independent artist shaping his own destiny.
