Kidnappers kill Kaduna Catholic Priest

Prior to his death on Wednesday, reverend father Okechukwu served as the pastor of St. Mary Catholic Church in Tachira, Kaura Local Government Area, Kaduna State.
Reverend Sylvester Okechukwu, a Catholic priest, was killed a day after he was abducted, according to the Catholic Diocese of Kafanchan in Kaduna.
Jacob Shanet, the Chancellor of the Diocese, said in a statement that Reverend Okechukwu was killed in the early hours of Wednesday after being kidnapped from his residence on Tuesday.
“We regret to inform you that Fr Sylvester was cruelly killed in the early hours of Wednesday, March 5,” The statement said.
According to the statement, His untimely death has left an indelible void within the diocesan family, his family, friends and all those who loved him.
