Joe Chukwu Elected ASUU AE-FUNAI Investment Secretary

Dr. Joe Chukwu, Head of the Department of Mass Communication at Alex Ekwueme Federal University Ndufu-Alike (AE-FUNAI), has been elected as the Investment Secretary of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), AE-FUNAI branch.
The election, held on June 25, saw Dr. Chukwu emerge victorious with an overwhelming 94 “YES” votes out of 100, capping off a distinguished four-year tenure as the branch Secretary.
Dr. Chukwu was first elected as Secretary of the union in June 2021 and returned for a second term in 2023. His re-election to a new office underscores the trust and confidence reposed in him by his colleagues.
In his appreciation message, Dr. Chukwu thanked the union members for their massive support and pledged to improve wherever necessary. He also extended an olive branch to the six members who voted “NO,” encouraging them to share their concerns for the betterment of his service.
“Ultimately, it was four years of dedicated and committed service, and I give the glory to God alone,” he noted.
