JAMB Announces March 8 Deadline for 2025 UTME Registration

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced that the registration period for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), which began on February 3, 2025, will close on March 8, 2025.
The exam body has ruled out any possibility of an extension, affirming that the deadline has been clearly communicated in all advertisements and the official calendar for the 2025 UTME cycle.
JAMB disclosed that over 1.5 million candidates have already completed their registration. The board’s spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, reiterated that no extension will be granted and encouraged prospective candidates to complete their registration promptly to avoid last-minute rushes.
“This notice is particularly important given the recent decline in the number of candidates registering for the examination. We urge all individuals who wish to participate to register promptly and avoid waiting until the last minute,” the statement emphasized.
JAMB also clarified that the fixed deadline is crucial to ensure that subsequent processes such as examinations, results management, and admissions proceed on schedule. The board explained that these timelines are coordinated with other agencies, and any delays in the registration period would disrupt the entire operation, affecting all parties involved.
“Currently, over 1.5 million candidates have successfully registered, which aligns closely with the board’s projections for the 2025 examination cycle,” the statement continued. “We strongly encourage candidates to complete their registration as soon as possible, adhering to the established timeline for the 2025 UTME.”
