IWD 2024: France Legalizes Abortion Rights

Report says France has granted its women the Abortion Rights in its constitution.
This is in support of women’s rights during this year’s International Women’s Day.
The Justice Minister, Eric Dupond-Moretti on Friday proclaimed the amendment of France’s constitution at a public ceremony, noted that France has become the first country to guarantee abortion rights under its national charter.
According to the French government, the move is to advance women’s rights.
The report says that Following Friday’s ceremony, the measure can now go into effect after receiving a resounding vote from French lawmakers earlier this week.
In a 780-72 vote on Monday, French lawmakers approved the constitutional amendment with the support of many members of the far-right party.
