Iran has issued a stern warning to the United States, threatening direct retaliation if Washington becomes involved in Israel’s ongoing military campaign against Tehran.

Speaking at the United Nations in Geneva, Iran’s ambassador, Ali Bahreini, accused the U.S. of enabling Israeli aggression and warned that Tehran would respond forcefully if American forces took direct action.

“At any point, if we conclude that the United States is directly involved, we will respond accordingly,” Bahreini said. “That would be a red line.”

His remarks were echoed by Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who vowed that Iran would not surrender and warned the U.S. against further provocation. “Any direct involvement will be met with irreparable consequences,” he said.

Tensions have surged in recent days, with Israel escalating its airstrikes on Iranian territory, targeting nuclear and missile infrastructure. Iran has responded with limited missile launches, while reportedly preparing defenses in the Persian Gulf, including naval mines and ballistic weapons.

The warnings from Tehran come after former U.S. President Donald Trump signaled support for Israel and hinted at deeper American involvement, sparking fears of a broader regional conflict.
