Iran has executed Majid Mosayebi after convicting him of espionage and alleged collaboration with Israel’s Mossad intelligence agency. The execution was reported by Iran’s semi-official Tasnim news agency and confirmed by the judiciary via its Mizan Online news platform.

According to the reports, Mosayebi was accused of attempting to transfer “sensitive information” to Mossad. The judiciary stated that his death sentence was upheld by the Supreme Court, and all legal procedures were followed before the execution was carried out by hanging.

“Majid Mosayebi… was hanged this morning after going through the full process of criminal procedure and after his sentence was confirmed by the Supreme Court,” Mizan reported.

Authorities have not released details regarding the date of Mosayebi’s arrest or the specific evidence presented against him.

The execution comes amid a broader crackdown on alleged espionage activities within Iran. On Saturday, police in Qom province announced the arrest of 22 individuals suspected of links to Israeli intelligence networks. According to the semi-official Fars news agency, the detainees were accused of “disturbing public opinion” and supporting “the criminal Zionist regime.”

Further arrests were made in Kermanshah province on Sunday, where judiciary spokesperson Asghar Jahangir confirmed that three more individuals were detained on suspicion of spying. One of the suspects reportedly holds European citizenship.

“These arrests were made possible thanks to the swift cooperation of the public with intelligence services and law enforcement,” Jahangir said.
