INYCF President Sworn In for Second Term, Promises Transparency

Dr. Onyechi Nwankwo was on Wednesday sworn in for a second term as President General of the Ikwo Noyo Youths Consultative Forum (INYCF), pledging to consolidate on past achievements while steering the group toward deeper youth inclusion, peacebuilding, and technological advancement.
The ceremony, held in Ikwo, drew dignitaries, community leaders, and youth representatives from across the region, marking a renewed chapter for one of Ebonyi State’s most influential youth bodies.
In his address, Dr. Nwankwo highlighted a string of accomplishments recorded during his first tenure, citing “resilience in the face of inherited challenges” and a commitment to promoting unity, skill development, and social justice across Ikwo communities.
“Three years ago, we made a commitment to uplift and advance our noble association. Today, we proudly acknowledge that, by God’s grace and your unwavering support, we have not only fulfilled our promises but exceeded expectations,” he said.
Milestones and Impact
Among the achievements listed were the establishment of a grassroots security network involving over 120 village youth presidents, production of a peace anthem with local musicians, and a massive unity road walk spanning five communities.
The Forum, under Dr. Nwankwo’s leadership, also launched economic initiatives including a partnership with Stanbic IBTC Bank that provided POS machines to 75 youth members, and distributed startup kits to trained technicians in phone and laptop repairs.
In the educational sector, the group paid school fees for underprivileged students and championed justice in reported cases of youth victimization. Additionally, the INYCF facilitated peace arbitration in inter-village disputes and released a widely viewed cultural documentary titled “Ikwo Noyo, My Brand, My Identity, My Pride.”
Entertainment and civic engagement also featured prominently. In collaboration with media partners, the group hosted the 2025 edition of the Nwanoyo Entertainment Festival and secured a Toyota Hiace bus through a state contract facilitated by Ebonyi State Governor, Rt. Hon. Bldr Prince Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru.
Forward Agenda
Looking ahead, Dr. Nwankwo unveiled a roadmap for the new administration, anchored on consolidation of ongoing programs and a renewed commitment to youth employment under the “One Youth, One Job” campaign.
Other priorities include increased women inclusion in youth leadership, enhanced accountability mechanisms for elected representatives, construction of a permanent INYCF secretariat, and expanded partnerships with both governmental and international bodies for skill-based empowerment.
“We shall continue to be watchdogs for accountability, promote moral values, and ensure that the Ikwo youth are not left behind in the global tech revolution,” he declared.
Call for Institutional Support
The President General appealed to government authorities to formally integrate INYCF into the local governance structure and allocate revenue channels to strengthen its sustainability. He also called on stakeholders to deepen their support for the Forum’s mission to build a more secure, productive, and resourceful Ikwo.
Dr. Nwankwo concluded with a rallying cry to stakeholders and youth: “Let us rise together to Make Ikwo Great Again (MIGA)—in tune with the changing world of technology.”
