INEC Declines Registration Of All Democratic Alliance Over Unmet Requirements

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has said it cannot register the proposed political party, All Democratic Alliance (ADA), due to failure to meet necessary requirements.
The commission made this known on Tuesday, stating that the promoters of ADA had not fulfilled the conditions needed to proceed with a formal registration process.
INEC’s National Commissioner and Chairman of the Information and Voter Education Committee, Mr. Sam Olumekun, disclosed this while addressing journalists in Abuja.
“We have received several letters of intent from different groups, but none of them qualifies as an official application yet,” Olumekun said. “They must meet the stipulated criteria before moving forward.”
It was further revealed that the ADA promoters mistakenly left out the word “electoral” in the address of their letter to the INEC chairman, contributing to the procedural lapse.
