Salmwang Inaugurates Corps Camp Directors, Sets Up Camp Court for Batch B Stream I

The Lagos State Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Mrs. Christiana Salmwang, has sworn in three Corps Camp Directors and formally inaugurated the Camp Court as part of efforts to strengthen leadership and discipline at the ongoing 2025 Batch “B” Stream I Orientation Course.
The trio—Grace Adeife (Platoon 3), Clinton Onuoha (Platoon 5), and Samuel Oyenuga (Platoon 8)—emerged as Corps Camp Directors following a rigorous leadership selection process involving all ten platoon leaders. The assessment panel, chaired by Barr. Oluyemisi Davidson, evaluated contestants based on comportment, eloquence, creativity, time management, and adherence to NYSC values.
Speaking on behalf of the State Coordinator during the selection exercise, the Camp Director, Mrs. Itohan Ehimwenma, urged corps members to view leadership as a call to responsible and collaborative service.
Commending the participants, the Camp Commandant reminded corps members that leadership transcends formal titles. “Even without a title, there is always a way to serve,” he said.
The newly appointed camp directors will act as liaisons between corps members and camp authorities and are expected to promote discipline, orderliness, and unity among their peers.
In a related development, the Camp Court has been inaugurated to address disciplinary matters and ensure adherence to camp rules. The Court comprises corps members with legal backgrounds—Muhammed Bashiru (Platoon 4) and Deborah Oludoyi (Platoon 7)—as well as Platoon Leaders Korede Bankole (Platoon 10) and Ogon Malachi Okukwe (Platoon 8).
Other officials on the Camp Court include the Camp Director, Camp Commandant, Head of Police, Resident Officer, and other key personnel.
The dual inauguration of the Camp Directors and Court is part of NYSC Lagos’ broader strategy to instill leadership, discipline, and a culture of accountability throughout the orientation programme.
