Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has dismissed rumours of his defection, affirming his loyalty to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Speaking on Monday at the flag-off ceremony for the dualisation of the 3.5km Ila township road in Ila-Orangun, Adeleke stated clearly: “I was elected on the platform of the PDP and so shall I remain in the party. I’m not going anywhere.”

He reiterated his commitment to serving the people of Osun State, stating that he had made a vow to both God and the citizens to remain focused on delivering development, regardless of political distractions.

Adeleke expressed satisfaction with the launch of the road project, despite what he described as ongoing uncertainties in the country. He noted that his administration has so far reconstructed, rehabilitated, or renovated over 175 kilometres of roads across the state.

He also emphasized the importance of completing the dualisation of the 39km Osogbo–Ikirun–Inisha–Okuku–Ijabe–Ila Odo road, which connects Osun to neighbouring Kwara State.

“The second phase, which we are flagging off today, is almost the same length as what was completed in 12 years. By the grace of God, we intend to deliver this project within 12 months,” Adeleke said.

He concluded by affirming that the developmental strides being witnessed in Osun are part of a divine plan, adding, “We are all programmed by Almighty God to be what we have been, what we are, and what we will be in the future.”
