ICPC Calls on NYSC Members to Champion Anti-Corruption Efforts

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has urged members of the 2025 Batch B Stream 1 of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Lagos to play a leading role in the fight against corruption in Nigeria.

Speaking at the NYSC orientation camp in Iyana-Ipaja, Lagos, ICPC representative Mrs. Oluwaseyi Ade-Adams emphasized the importance of youth in driving societal change. She described young Nigerians as vital allies in promoting integrity due to their energy, innovation, and commitment to positive transformation.

Highlighting the Commission’s threefold mandate—enforcement, prevention, and public education—Mrs. Ade-Adams encouraged corps members to uphold ethical standards, reject bribery, and hold individuals and institutions accountable. She also shared practical ways to report corrupt acts and participate in advocacy through digital tools like reporting apps and data-tracking platforms.

Expressing optimism for a more transparent society, she urged the youth to be proactive in governance and public accountability, reinforcing the ICPC’s belief that their involvement is crucial to building a corruption-free Nigeria.
