I Made a Vow to Build 1,000 Churches Before Leaving Earth – Bishop Oyedepo

Founder of Living Faith Church Worldwide, also known as Winners Chapel, Bishop David Oyedepo, has revealed a personal vow he made to God—to build 1,000 churches before his time on earth is over.

Speaking during a recent sermon, Oyedepo recalled how he made the commitment long before he had any financial means.

“Before I had the first bank account, I said, ‘Jesus, if you ever bless me, I want to be part of building new churches,’” he told his congregation. “How many have heard that before? You have always heard everything.”

Highlighting the seriousness of the vow, he added, “I told Jesus, I don’t want to come to heaven without a thousand churches built in your name.”

Oyedepo used the moment to challenge members of the church to examine their own willingness to serve God, noting that many have resources that sit idle instead of being used for God’s work.

“Some may even have buses that are doing nothing on Sunday, but they won’t bring them out. Because, ah, N2,000 per half litre,” he said. “If it’s in your heart, go put it in your heart.”

He concluded with a passionate call to action: “Over to you, you better wake up. Can I tell you something? Everybody’s a reflection of where he belongs. It’s time you start reflecting what happens in here.”
