“I Hate Peter Obi And I Have Every Right To” – Edo APC Chairman

Edo State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Jarret Tenebe, has openly declared his hatred for Labour Party’s Peter Obi, saying he has every right to feel that way.

Tenebe made the controversial statement while backing Governor Monday Okpebholo’s call for Obi to obtain security clearance before entering Edo State. The governor had previously claimed that Obi’s visit coincided with a spike in violence, warranting tighter controls.

Speaking at a press conference over the weekend, Tenebe said, “The governor can say that because of the kind of hatred people have for Peter Obi in the state — including me. When you have so many of us that have hatred for people like that, especially when they come to Edo State and people died, it’s proper for him to inform the governor before coming, so people like us can be sent on errands out of Edo.”

During a follow-up interview on TVC, Tenebe doubled down on his stance:
“I do not like Peter Obi. I hate him. I have the right to like or hate. The opposite of hate is love. If I don’t love you, I hate you.”

When the host suggested “dislike” was more appropriate, Tenebe rejected it:
“No! I don’t stay in the middle. I am an extremist. The constitution gives me freedom of expression. It doesn’t say you can’t hate someone.”
