How Ogah Humiliates Constituent Seeking Help

Broadcast journalist and native of Okpuitumo, Azubuike Nwali, has narrated a humiliating experience at the hands of Hon. Comrade Chinedu Ogah, the member representing Ikwo/Ezza South Federal Constituency, following a plea for academic assistance.
In a personal account, Nwali described how what began as a hopeful visit turned into public disgrace. He said that instead of offering support or at least respect, Ogah dismissed him harshly.
“I approached Comrade Ogah with a humble request for support in my education,” Nwali wrote.
“Rather than offer help or ask questions with courtesy, he called me a fraudster in the presence of his guests. He even threw away the attestation letter from my Head of Department.”
Though Ogah later handed him ₦5,000 and asked for more proof of his academic status, the gesture did little to repair the damage.
“At that point, I noticed he felt some remorse, but the embarrassment was already done. I chose to walk away with my dignity — and never returned.”
While acknowledging that Comrade Ogah has made efforts to uplift many in the constituency through philanthropic acts, Nwali insisted that no amount of charity justifies humiliating someone who seeks help.
“Helping people is not a license to insult them. Respect should be the foundation of any public service,” he said.
Nwali also criticized Ogah’s defenders who attack any form of public criticism. “Sycophants don’t help leaders grow. They only feed their ego. If things turn bad, they’ll be the first to flee.”
He urged Comrade Ogah and his supporters to accept criticism as a vital part of leadership, not an attack.
“Even Nelson Mandela wasn’t accepted by all. No one is above reproach. Criticism helps leaders improve — it shouldn’t be seen as hate,” Nwali concluded.
