Hilda Baci is gearing up for another headline-grabbing culinary challenge — cooking the world’s largest pot of jollof rice.

The celebrity chef revealed on Instagram that the colossal dish will be prepared in an enormous pot measuring six meters in both width and height. According to her, the ambitious project has been in planning for two years and will finally come to life on September 12, 2025, at Muri Okunola Park, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Baci described the event as more than just a record-breaking attempt. “This is not only about cooking jollof rice. It’s about celebrating Nigerian food, music, culture, and community,” she wrote.

She recalled her 2023 cookathon, which earned global recognition when she set a Guinness World Record for the longest individual cooking marathon — a feat later surpassed by Irish chef Alan Fisher that same year. Now, she is ready to make history again with support from Gino, a household food brand.

“Two years ago, I envisioned the biggest pot of Nigerian jollof rice the world had ever seen. Today, that dream is finally becoming reality,” she said. “It’s a taste that tells our story, a celebration of who we are. I want everyone to witness it.”
