Hanan Buhari Thanks Nigerians For Forgiving Her Late Father

Hanan Buhari, daughter of the late former President Muhammadu Buhari, has expressed gratitude to Nigerians who forgave her father following his death.
Asiwajumedia reports that the former Nigerian leader died on Sunday, July 13, at a London clinic after battling a prolonged, undisclosed illness. He was laid to rest two days later at his Daura residence in Katsina State.
Buhari’s death sparked a wave of tributes and criticism on social media, reflecting the divisive legacy he left behind.
In an interview with BBC Hausa, Hanan described her father as a man with a great sense of humour and discipline, saying that is what she will miss the most.
“What I will miss most about him is his sense of humour. I look up to him as a part of me,” she said.
She thanked Nigerians who chose to forgive him, noting that his passing, while painful, is accepted as the will of God.
“On behalf of our family, we are grateful. We have nothing to say to them except thank God. He disciplined me to study, pray, and do things that made us happy. But since Allah has decreed it, Alhamdulillah, I had the chance to be with him and read the Qur’an to him,” Hanan added.
