Governor Yusuf Appoints Ahmed Musa as New General Manager of Kano Pillars FC

Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has appointed former Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa as the new General Manager of Kano Pillars Football Club.
The appointment comes as part of a broader effort to reposition the club ahead of the 2025–2026 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season. Musa, who previously played for Kano Pillars and enjoyed a successful international career, returns to the club in a leadership capacity, bringing a wealth of experience both on and off the pitch.
Governor Yusuf, while announcing the new management team, emphasized that Musa’s appointment is aimed at restoring the club’s legacy, inspiring players, attracting investment, and reconnecting with supporters. The reconstitution of the club’s board follows the expiration of the previous management’s one-year tenure, during which Kano Pillars finished 9th in the NPFL.
Musa now leads a 17-member board chaired by Ali Umar (Nayara), which includes both returning and new members carefully selected to drive the club forward competitively and administratively.
With this appointment, Musa makes history as one of the few Nigerian footballers to transition from a decorated playing career to a high-level executive role within a top-tier Nigerian club.
