Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State, Nigeria, has taken the state’s ambitious development agenda to the international stage, participating in the prestigious 16th International Infrastructure Investment and Construction Forum (IIICF) in Macao, China.
Oborevwori, alongside his Taraba State counterpart, Governor Agbu Kefas, is among the high-profile delegates at the global event, which brings together thousands of participants from over 70 countries, including more than 60 ministerial delegations.
At the Forum, Governor Oborevwori spotlighted his administration’s strategic efforts to transform Delta State’s infrastructure in line with globally accepted standards. Addressing international investors, development partners, and stakeholders, he reaffirmed his government’s unwavering commitment to delivering sustainable, high-quality infrastructure projects that drive economic growth and enhance the standard of living for Deltans.
“Delta State is open for business,” Governor Oborevwori declared. “We are investing in infrastructure that will not only catalyze local development but also position Delta as a competitive hub for innovation and investment on the global map.”
The governor’s participation underscores Delta’s proactive approach to fostering international collaboration, attracting foreign investment, and adopting best practices in infrastructure planning and execution.
Now in its 16th year, the IIICF is widely regarded as the most influential annual gathering for global infrastructure development. The forum serves as a premier platform for government agencies, financial institutions, engineering and construction firms, consultants, and manufacturers to share strategic insights, discuss trends, and explore investment opportunities.
Accompanying Governor Oborevwori at the forum are Mr. Charles Aniagwu, Delta State Commissioner for Works (Rural Roads) & Public Information, and Bob Nakpodia, Technical Assistant to the Governor.
Governor Oborevwori’s presence at the IIICF not only marks a bold step in promoting Delta’s development agenda but also signals the state’s readiness to integrate with the global infrastructure ecosystem and embrace innovative solutions for a sustainable future.
