Government Pledges Support for Victims of Sokoto Timber Market Fire Outbreak

A devastating fire broke out earlier yesterday at the Sokoto Timber Market, also known as Kasuwar Yan Katako.
The incident caused significant losses to traders and business owners who rely on the market for their livelihoods.
The Sokoto State Government has expressed deep sympathy for those affected by the tragedy. Governor Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto assured victims of the government’s full support in recovery and rebuilding efforts.
Emergency services were immediately deployed to the scene to contain the fire and prevent further damage. Relevant agencies have also been directed to assess the situation and provide relief to those affected.
A task force has also been established to investigate the cause of the fire. The committee will recommend preventive measures to avoid similar incidents in the future and ensure market safety.
The government assured residents of its commitment to their safety and prosperity. Plans are said to be underway to strengthen infrastructure and improve preventive measures in markets across the state.
Governor Aliyu urged affected traders to remain hopeful, assuring them of swift intervention. He also prayed for strength and resilience for those impacted by the unfortunate incident.
