Godwin Nnadiekwe Passes Away Following On-Set Incident with Zubby Michael

The Nigerian film industry is in mourning following the tragic death of Nollywood actor Godwin Nnadiekwe. His management confirmed that the actor passed away as a result of complications stemming from an on-set incident involving popular actor Zubby Michael.
Nnadiekwe was reportedly struck during a film shoot, an impact that aggravated a pre-existing chest injury sustained in December 2023.
According to a statement released by his team, the earlier injury was the result of a gym accident involving a fallen weight, which had required nearly two months of recovery.
The official statement reads in part:
“It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved client and friend, Godwin Nnadiekwe. Godwin fought bravely after sustaining a critical injury on set, which was compounded by a severe chest injury he sustained in December 2023 during a gym accident. Despite the best medical care and the strength he showed during recovery, he sadly succumbed to complications.”
The management also called for understanding and compassion, emphasizing the emotional and physical toll artists endure behind the scenes.
“Godwin’s untimely departure reminds us of the silent battles many people face. We urge the public to extend kindness and empathy, as even well-meaning actions can have lasting effects. Please keep his family and loved ones in your thoughts during this painful time.”
Godwin Nnadiekwe was known for his passion, talent, and rising influence in Nollywood. His sudden death has left a void in the hearts of colleagues, fans, and loved ones.
